Multiple blind contour drawings were done in a variety of mediums until a sense of form was found through muscle memory. Ink and brush were chosen for the final because of its smooth lines and flow. A spontaneous brush stroke of flourescent orange across her eyes conjures a sense of rebellion and present day attitude.

Tait Hawes

Tait works out of his home studio in Leucadia, CA. He grew up in York, ME and Portsmouth, NH and obtained his BFA from Massachusetts College of Art where he studied Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking and Design. He also studied in Florence, Italy where he completed an intensive painting and drawing study that solidified his passion and love for creating art. He spent the greater part of the past 20 years providing art and creative direction for brands such as Capitol Records, Vans, Judith, Burton Snowboards and Reef. Published works include Secret Behavior Magazine, Neomu Magazine, Installation Magazine and 1,000 Music Graphics: A Compilation of Packaging, Posters and Other Sound Solutions. His sole focus now is on creating artwork for clients and his art prints business, Sons Studio.
